How Does the Translation Work?
Here’s how it happens: Meta’s AI listens to the video, translates the dialogue into another language, and then dubs it using a voice that sounds like the original creator. It even matches the person’s tone and emotion, so it feels actual!
To make it look even more natural, the AI also lip-syncs the person’s mouth actions with the translated words — so when they speak in Hindi or Portuguese, it looks like they’re really saying it!
See What’s Translated
When you watch a translated Reel, you’ll see a small label that says “Translated with Meta AI.” This tells viewers that AI helped create the translation. If you want, you can turn off translations anytime. Just tap the three-dot menu, go to audio and language settings, and click on “Don’t translate.”

Meta has made sure both creators and spectators know when AI is being used. The dubbing feature includes clear labels and gives persons the choice to use or skip it. For now, it’s existing to creators with more than 1,000 followers and public accounts in supported regions.
