Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Catches Fire During YouTube Test!

A Shocking Incident during a Durability Test

Something unexpected happened during a YouTube test of Google’s latest foldable phone — the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The phone essentially caught fire after its battery exploded in the middle of a bend test!

The test was done by Zack Nelson, a popular tech YouTuber from the channel JerryRigEverything. He usually checks how strong phones are by bending, scratching, and burning them. But this time, when he bent the Pixel 10 Pro Fold backward, the battery suddenly burst and started burning, sending out smoke and fires.

What Really Happened

The incident took place about six and a half minutes into the video. Zack was testing the phone’s flexibility, just like he had done with many other phones before. But the Pixel 10 Pro Fold couldn’t handle the pressure. The phone broke badly, and its battery blasted, somewhat that had never happened in his ten years of testing phones!

Zack pointed out that Google’s foldable phones seem to have some design problems. Even the earlier Pixel 9 Pro Fold had broken in half during a similar test. He also mentioned that Google claims the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is IP68 certified (meaning dust and water-resistant), but the hinge part might not actually be protected from dust. When dust got into it, it made a crunching noise, which made him doubt Google’s claims.

Why it’s a Big Deal

The explosion raised concerns about how safe and durable Google’s foldable phones really are. Many fans expected better durability after last year’s problems, but this test showed that not much has changed.

Even more surprising — the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is thinner, passed the same test without any damage!

About the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold

Despite this scary moment, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold has some notable features:

  • Display: 6.4-inch cover screen and 8-inch main OLED screen (120Hz refresh rate)
  • Processor: 3nm Tensor G5 chip
  • Camera: 48MP triple rear camera + two 10MP selfie cameras

Still, after this fiery test, people are wondering if the phone is truthfully worth that high price!
