Apple Releases iOS 26.1 Update With New Liquid Glass Feature and Major Fixes
Apple has rolled out its latest software — iOS 26.1 — for iPhone users. The update, launched on November 3, brings new features, design improvements, and important security fixes. It also solves many problems users faced with the last version002C iOS 26.0.1.
New Liquid Glass Setting for Better Prominence
One of the most talked-about additions is the new Liquid Glass feature. This setting lets users choose between a “clear look” and a “tinted look” for their screens. It increases the opacity of app and lock screen elements, making text and icons easier to read.
Apple presented this feature after users complained about visibility and legibility issues.
Additionally, users now have the option to disable the swipe gesture that opens the Camera app directly from the Lock Screen — a small but useful customization choice for many iPhone owners.
Expanded Language Support for Live Translation
With iOS 26.1, Apple has better Live Translation with AirPods. It now supports more languages, including Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, and Italian.
This brings the total to nine supported languages, joining English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. This update helps users communicate easily while traveling or working globally.
Improved Safety for Child Accounts

The update also adds Gain Control for external USB microphones, allowing authors to manage audio levels when recording. Files can now be saved to custom locations for easier access.
Fitness fans will notice a new option for manual workout logging in the Apple Fitness app.
