How Candidates Are Selected (Selection Process)

how candidate are selected in railways

The Loco Pilot Recruitment 2025 is done step by step to make sure only the best and most responsible applicants are chosen. The process checks information, skills, and fitness. Here’s how it works:

1. Computer Exam (CBT 1 and CBT 2)

The first step is a Computer-Based Test (CBT), held in two stages. In these exams, questions come from Mathematics, Reasoning, General Knowledge, and Technical subjects. This checks if the candidate has the right abstract and technical knowledge for the job.

2. Aptitude Test

After clearing the computer tests, some applicants have to take an Aptitude Test. This test measures how quickly a person can think, make decisions, and stay alert—significant skills for driving a train safely.

3. Document Verification

Those who pass the tests must show their certificates, mark sheets, and ID proofs. This step confirms that all details given in the application are true and correct.

4. Medical Examination

Finally, a medical test is done. This checks eyesight, hearing, and overall health. Only applicants who are physically and mentally fit are selected as loco pilots.

In short, applicants go through exams, skill tests, document checks, and medical fitness tests before getting selected.
