iQOO 15R Display, IP Ratings and Key Features Revealed Ahead of India Launch

The iQOO 15R is set to launch in India in the last week of February. It will be the second model in the brand’s flagship lineup. The device will be sold online in the country and will be available in two colour options. Ahead of the launch, Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO has been teasing key details of the phone. Fresh information has now confirmed its display specifications, connectivity options, and IP certifications. The handset will also feature a dual rear camera setup housed in a square-shaped camera module.

iQOO 15R: Expected Specifications and Features

According to details shared on the official microsite, the iQOO 15R will come with a 1.5K resolution AMOLED display supporting a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen is said to offer up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness and will support HDR10+, promising an enhanced visual experience.

In terms of connectivity, the phone will include Bluetooth 6, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and an infrared blaster. Additionally, the device has received IP68 and IP69 ratings, ensuring protection against dust and water. For security, it will be equipped with an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint sensor.

Launch Timeline and Performance Hardware

The company has already confirmed that the iQOO 15R will launch in India on February 24. The smartphone will be available for purchase via Amazon and will be offered in Dark Knight and Triumph Silver colour options.

Under the hood, the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 octa-core 3nm processor. According to the company, the handset has scored over 3.5 million points on AnTuTu, highlighting its flagship-level performance.

Cooling System, Battery and Charging Support

The iQOO 15R will also feature the brand’s Q2 Supercomputing chip along with a dedicated Network Enhancement Chip. For thermal management, it will use a 6.5K IceCore VC cooling system, which is claimed to reduce temperatures by up to 15°C within 10 minutes.

The phone will pack a 7,600mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging and bypass charging. The company claims that just 10 minutes of charging can deliver 3.1 hours of gaming, 7.1 hours of social media usage, 16.3 hours of video playback, or 2.4 hours of 4K/60fps video recording.

Camera and Software Updates

In the camera department, the iQOO 15R will launch with a dual rear camera setup, led by a 50MP Sony LYT-700V primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS). On the software side, the smartphone will run Android 16-based OriginOS 6. iQOO has promised four years of OS updates and six years of security updates, ensuring long-term software support.
