Motorola appears to be preparing a new product for its true wireless earbuds (TWS) segment. The company launched the Moto Buds+ globally in April 2024, followed by its India debut in May. Now, a fresh leak offers a glimpse of an upgraded model. Recent renders suggest that Motorola may soon introduce the Moto Buds 2 Plus. The upcoming earbuds could feature a redesigned charging case while retaining the familiar “Sound by Bose” branding. For now, Motorola has not made any official announcement.
New Look Spotted in Leaked Renders
Images shared on X (formerly Twitter) by popular tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) showcase the Moto Buds 2 Plus. According to the renders, the earbuds follow a stem-style design with silicone ear tips. They sit inside an oval-shaped charging case with a smooth finish. The front of the case displays Motorola’s batwing logo along with the “Sound by Bose” text, confirming that the audio tuning partnership with Bose continues.
This time, the charging case layout looks different. While the Moto Buds+ stored the earbuds in a horizontal position, the Moto Buds 2 Plus renders show them placed upright in a vertical orientation. However, the earbuds themselves do not appear to have undergone any major external design changes.
New Colour Variants Revealed
The leak highlights two colour options for the Moto Buds 2 Plus. One variant comes in white with a soft light-blue interior. The second appears in a dark blue shade, paired with a blue-grey inner lining. In both versions, the earbuds match the exterior colour of the charging case.
Launch and Pricing Still Uncertain
Motorola has not yet shared details about the specifications, pricing, or launch date of the Moto Buds 2 Plus. However, since the Moto Buds+ launched in the premium segment at ₹9,999, the new model is expected to be priced in a similar range.
Moto Buds+ Features (For Reference)
The Moto Buds+ feature dual dynamic drivers, including an 11mm woofer and a 6mm tweeter. They support up to 46dB active noise cancellation and offer Transparency, Adaptive, and ANC modes. The earbuds also come with “Sound by Bose” branding, along with Dolby Head Tracking, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Audio support. For calls, they include a triple-microphone system with environmental noise cancellation.
In terms of battery life, the Moto Buds+ deliver up to 38 hours of total playback with the charging case. With ANC turned off, the earbuds last around eight hours on a single charge. A quick 10-minute charge provides up to three hours of playback. The charging case supports USB Type-C and wireless charging. It carries an IPX4 rating, while the earbuds are rated IP54. Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 5.3, and the total weight of the setup is 42.8 grams.
Although Motorola has not officially confirmed anything yet, the leaked renders strongly suggest that the company may soon refresh its premium TWS lineup with the Moto Buds 2 Plus.
