Qualcomm Hints Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra May Feature a Snapdragon Processor

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26 Ultra during the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event. The flagship smartphone could launch alongside the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, Galaxy Buds 4, and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. The device is likely to debut in India as well as other major global markets.

Ahead of the official announcement, dedicated microsites for the upcoming Galaxy devices have gone live on two major e-commerce platforms in India. This suggests that the new smartphones will be available for purchase through these online channels. While Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the device names or full specifications, Qualcomm appears to have provided an important hint.

The US-based chipmaker recently reshared Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event announcement with the caption “something big is coming.” This has intensified speculation that at least one model in the Galaxy S26 series will be powered by a Snapdragon processor.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Could Feature Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Samsung typically equips its Ultra-branded flagship smartphones with Snapdragon processors, while in certain regions the standard and Plus variants use the company’s in-house Exynos chipsets.

For example, last year’s Galaxy S25 Ultra launched with a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor featuring an octa-core architecture. Following this trend, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to debut with Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset. Reports suggest that the processor will be built on an advanced 3nm manufacturing process.

Earlier leaks had also pointed toward the Ultra variant using this flagship chipset. However, since Samsung has not officially confirmed the Galaxy S26 Ultra name or its hardware specifications, these details should currently be treated as speculation.

Expected Specifications of the Galaxy S26 Ultra

According to industry leaks, the Galaxy S26 Ultra may come with a 5,000mAh battery and support 60W wired fast charging.

The smartphone is also rumored to feature a large 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 1,400 x 3,120 pixels. The screen could support a 120Hz refresh rate and may be protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2.

In terms of cameras, Samsung is expected to include a quad rear camera setup, which could consist of:

  • 200-megapixel primary camera
  • 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor
  • 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens
  • 10-megapixel telephoto camera

Official confirmation is still awaited, and more details are likely to emerge as the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event approaches.
