If you want to become a Loco Pilot in Indian Railways, you must fulfill some basic circumstances. The job is very important because a loco pilot drives the train, ensures traveler safety, and follows strict rules. That is why only suitable candidates can apply.
1. Educational Qualification
Candidates should have at least passed 10th class from a recognized board. Along with this, they must also complete ITI (Industrial Training Institute) or a Diploma in Engineering in fields like Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related streams. This technical knowledge helps them understand and function engines properly.
2. Age Limit
Applicants must be between 18 to 30 years of age. However, applicants belonging to reserved categories like SC, ST, OBC, and others get relaxation in the maximum age limit as per government rules. This gives equal chance to everyone.
3. Medical Fitness
Since the loco pilot’s work is full of responsibility, health is very important. Applicants must have good eyesight, proper hearing, and physical fitness. The medical test ensures that only fit and alert persons are chosen for this role.
