Samsung is making to launch a new version of its foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Special Edition, in China this month. This future model is a special edition of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 that was launched in India and other nations in July 2025. While Samsung has not shared all the details yet, fans are eager to see what improvements this version will bring.
Launch Date and Time
According to Samsung’s certified website in China, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Special Edition will be launched on October 11 at 4 PM local time (1:30 PM in India). The teaser image shows a foldable phone that looks like the original Galaxy Z Fold 7, with a black and red design and a golden frame, giving it a premium presence.
Expected Design and Features
Although Samsung has not revealed the full specifications, reports suggest that this new version might be thinner and lighter than the regular Galaxy Z Fold 7. It could also include better cameras and slightly larger displays.
Last year, Samsung released the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition in China, which had a thinner body, improved cameras, and larger screens. That model included an 8-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch outer screen, compared to the standard version’s 7.6-inch and 6.3-inch screens. It also had a 200-megapixel main camera for louder and clearer photos. The new Fold 7 Special Edition may follow a similar pattern, focusing on design developments and better photography.
Hardware and Software
According to SamMobile, this foldable phone is codenamed W26 and will likely be available only in China. Production is predictable to be limited, with around 4 to 5 lakh units planned. Inside, the phone will probably include the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and as much as 1TB of storage. It may also come with One UI 8.0, based on Android 16, to offer a smooth and wild experience.
What’s Next from Samsung
In addition to this special edition, Samsung is also getting ready to reveal its first tri-fold smartphone before the end of the year. Reports suggest it could be announced during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, between October 31 and November 1.
