A New Kind of Xbox Is Coming

Microsoft is making a brand-new version of the Xbox, and it sounds very exhilarating. Reports say that the next-generation Xbox will run on Windows, just like a computer. But instead of looking like a normal PC, it will have a different Xbox-style screen that works perfectly on televisions.

This means players will be able to play games not only from the Xbox Store but also from other game stores like Steam, Epic Games Store, and Battle.net. In simple words, this new Xbox will let gamers play all kinds of games from many different places on one console.

Xbox Is Changing Its Game Plan

Earlier, Xbox games could only be played on Xbox consoles. But now, Microsoft wants to make its games obtainable for everyone. In the last year, the company has released its widely held games such as Gears of War, Forza Horizon, and Halo on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles too.

This shows that Xbox no longer wants to limit its games to just its own relaxations. Instead, it wants players from every platform to enjoy its games.

How the New Xbox Will Work

The new Xbox will work in a way alike to Microsoft’s handheld gaming device called the ROG Xbox Ally. This small device runs on Windows 11 but opens directly into an Xbox-style menu. The upcoming console will work in the same way—it will start with the Xbox menu, but players can switch to full Windows mode whenever they want.

This setup will allow gamers to move easily between Xbox games and PC games, and they can even use Windows features just like on a regular computer.

    Backward Compatibility and Multiplayer

One of the best parts of the new Xbox is that it will support all the games from the Xbox Series X and S consoles. That means you can still play your old favorite games.

There are also reports that Microsoft might remove the rule that players must pay to play online multiplayer games. If this happens, it will be a big win for gamers.

    A Premium Experience Coming Soon

Xbox president Sarah Bond said that the next Xbox will give players a very high-quality involvement. It may even be the most powerful Xbox ever made.
