Qualcomm, the business that makes chips for many smartphones, might soon bring a new super chip called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. After introduction the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 last month, this new chip is said to be another strong member of the Snapdragon 8 family. Some early leaks have already given us hints about what this new chip can do, and it sounds very powerful!
What Is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5?
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is a small but very smart chip that supports phones work faster and handle big tasks easily. It is said to be made using TSMC’s N3p process, which helps it use less power and stay cool while giving great performance.
This chip is predictable to come with Qualcomm’s Oryon CPU — the brain of the chip — and will have eight cores. Two of these cores will run very fast at 3.8GHz, while six others will run at 3.32GHz to balance speed and battery life. It will also use the Adreno 840 GPU, which helps mobiles show better graphics for games and videos.
How Fast Is It?
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is said to be super quick! In tests, it might get an AnTuTu score above 3.3 million, which means it’s one of the fastest chips around. On Geekbench 6, it could score about 3,000 points for single-core tasks and 10,000 points for multi-core tasks.
It’s also said to run games at more than 100 frames per second, significance gameplay will be very smooth. Even though it might be a bit slower than the Elite version in graphics, it still looks like a powerful chip that can handle almost anything.
Which Phones Will Use It?
While Qualcomm has not officially announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 yet, reports say that phone makes like Vivo, iQOO, Motorola, and Meizu may use it in their next smartphones.
This means that future phones from these businesses could be faster, better at gaming, and more efficient with battery life — all thanks to this new Snapdragon chip.
In Short
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 looks like another amazing chip from Qualcomm. With its smart design, super speed, and smooth presentation, it could make the next generation of smartphones even more dominant and fun to use.
