IMC 2025: Meet Ericsson’s Amazing AI Robot Dog and Other Smart Inventions!

Technology lovers had an exciting period at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025, held in New Delhi from October 8 to 11. Many big tech businesses and government officials came together to share new ideas about the future of communication, 5G, and artificial intelligence (AI). One of the most talked-about attractions came from Ericsson, a global tech company that showed off some really cool AI-powered inventions — including a robot dog that helps check trains!

Ericsson’s AI Robot Dog for Driverless Trains

Ericsson has built a special AI-powered robot dog that can inspect automated railcars (driverless train compartments). The robot looks like a real dog but is made of technologies and sensors. It has high-definition cameras and smart sensors that help it find problems in train systems — like broken parts or software mistakes.

The best part? This robot can send live data over a private 5G network so that engineers can rapidly fix any problems. Thanks to AI (artificial intelligence), it can even detect tiny matters automatically! This new invention could make driverless trains safer and more effective.

Annapurti – The 5G Grain ATM

Ericsson also introduced a device called Annapurti, a smart grain ATM made in India with help from the World Food Programme. This engine can give out 25 to 30 kilograms of food grains in just 30 seconds!

It works using Aadhaar-based fingerprint scanning, making sure food is given only to the right people. Annapurti is already employed in cities like Bhopal, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Shillong, and Varanasi, and will reach 23 more cities by 2026.

Fast Internet for Everybody

Ericsson shared that its Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technology is assisting more people in India get fast internet — even in villages! Over 8.4 million people are using it now, and it can give fiber-like internet speed deprived of any cables.

StethoECG – A Smart Heart Device

Another amazing gadget at IMC 2025 was StethoECG, a minor digital stethoscope that also checks your heart’s ECG. It attaches through a 5G SIM card and can send reports to doctors in faraway places. This life-saving device was formed by IIT Madras and Ericsson Research to help people in areas without hospitals.
